Sperm go on the most amazing journey, one we take for granted. From the moment sperm leaves the male body, the vagina does everything it can to try and kill it.

Over 1000 sperm roll off the production line every heartbeat and 250 million leave the male body at ejaculation. It's a big race with only one penetrating the egg.

See how the race of the winning sperm unfolds below in our infographic.

After sex, does douching interfere with the process by reducing the number of sperm cells that enters the cervix?
    1. Christina (OC Team): Douching is definitely not a reliable form of birth control, but it's also not recommended for TTC because it isn't sperm-friendly. - (Oct 05, 2016)

I am wondering if there will be a chance that sperm is still here inside. We tried to conceive yesterday, but my ovulation day is at 29. Do we have a chance? My dh is working and will get back home next month, so we're having a hard time to get good timing.
    1. Christina (OC Team): Sperm can live in the body for five days. Good luck! - (Oct 25, 2016)
