One in six couples struggle to get pregnant and are diagnosed with infertility. The term infertility means a couple is unable to conceive after trying timed intercourse for 12 months if under 35, or six months if over 35.

Fact is, it's not possible for everyone to have a baby the fun way.

It's National Infertility Awareness Week (Apr 24-30). Spread the word by sharing this infographic.

How do you know if you are fertile if you are over 35 yrs?
    1. Sarah (OC Team): Please have a look at the following article: https://www.ovulationcalculator.com/fertility-older-age/ - (Jul 31, 2016)
    2. Hopeful: Is it possible to be pregnant if only one of your breasts (left nipple) is tender? (Yesterday and today) OR is that a sign of your period coming on?!?! - (Nov 26, 2016)

Help me. I am confused. I was supposed to start my period on the 10th of August, but I started today on the 9th of August.

What makes me nervous is that I didnt notice any ovulation signs, so on the 7th of August, I had sex with my boyfriend without protection. Now I have stomach cramps.

    Am i pregnant??
    1. Christina (OC Team): You would have likely ovulated somewhere around 12-16 days before your menstrual period, so the 7th wouldn't have been in your fertile window. Also, if your period arrived, it is unlikely that you are pregnant. Have a look at this article to learn more about what happens during your menstrual cycle https://www.ovulationcalculator.com/menstrual-cycle/ - (Aug 09, 2016)

I had sex during my fertility days and my period is 2 days late

    1. Christina (OC Team): Sounds like a good time to take a test. Good luck! - (Aug 15, 2016)

It's 5 days more for me to test, but I am very anxious and sometimes panicked at the thought. Please, what can I do to ease or stop this?
    1. Christina (OC Team): The two week wait is difficult for just about everyone. Hang in there. In the meantime, have a look at some inspirational words from fertility bloggers. https://www.ovulationcalculator.com/infertility-inspiration/ Good luck! - (Aug 17, 2016)

I had sex during my ovulation period and my period came on the 20th of Aug (at the right time), but it only ran for two days. The other two days, it came out small and faint. Does this mean I am pregnant? I am also feeling feverish. Should I go ahead and take malaria drugs? Please answer me, thanks.
    1. Christina (OC Team): Have a look at this article about implantation bleeding. If your bleeding was light and only lasted two days, this is a possibility. https://www.ovulationcalculator.com/implantation-bleeding-or-period-quiz/ If you have any medical or prescription questions, please consult your doctor. Good luck! - (Aug 23, 2016)

My cycle started on the 28th and lasted 3 days. That was normal. But then started light bleeding again with mild cramps and feeling sick around the 5th or 6th and lasted 2 and a half days. I still baby danced though. The blood was really dark. AF was due to come yesterday but not feeling any symptoms. I'm really confused. Was that implantation? Or a hormonal imbalance?
    1. Christina (OC Team): You should be able to test now to see if you are pregnant. Good luck! - (Aug 25, 2016)

Good day, everyone! During my ovulation, mucus came out for 3 days. It was still creamy, but after that, I have not noticed anything again. My body is so dry that
it didn't allow penetration. Please, what does this mean? My fertile days are still the 24th and 25th of this month.
    1. Christina (OC Team): It's very difficult to say. You may have ovulated on the third or fourth day after seeing CM or you may be experiencing a double peak where ovulation stops and starts again. You can learn more about that here https://www.ovulationcalculator.com/cervix-cervical-mucus/ - (Sep 22, 2016)

What does it signify when hormone progesterone is stimulating glands in the uterus to secrete substances that prevent the uterus from breaking down. Thank you
    1. Christina (OC Team): During menstruation, the body sheds excess uterine lining that was built up in preparation for pregnancy. When a woman is pregnant, hormones prevent the excess uterine lining from breaking down. You can learn more about the process here. https://www.ovulationcalculator.com/menstrual-cycle/ - (Oct 04, 2016)

My last mestrual cycle started on the 26th of October and ended on the 30th. According to your chart, my ovulation day was yesterday. I had sex on the 2nd November and the 5th. Today, I am feeling bit of lower abdominal/tummy pain, nausea and mild chest tightness. Are these symptoms of ovulation? Or any other problems/health issues?? Please help me out.

I only have one ovary and I'm 41 years old. What are the chances of me getting pregnant? Do you think i should consider IVF?

Is it possible to be really fertile when you're younger, like in your 20s, then around 30s to not be fertile at all? I'm turning 30 next month and trying to conceive now. I had two kids in my early 20s, but had lots of trouble during the pregnancies because of my diabetes. Before my kids, I had two miscarriages. I finally met my soulmate and want more kids, but I'm wondering if I'm getting my hopes too high. I started using this app last month and made love around all the right times, but I'm still unsure. He also has a testosterone problem. Would it just be too late for us?

I started using your app last month and I had sex throughout my fertile window, but I didn't get pregnant. I'm currently in my fertile window now and I've been having sex as expected, but my concern is that the sperm always comes back out after sex no matter how long I lie down after. I'm really worried that it might lower my chances of conceiving. What can I do to reduce that?
    1. Christina (OC Team): This is normal and you can expect that some sperm will remain to make the journey. Good luck! - (Dec 11, 2016)
    2. Jayla: Thanks - (Dec 15, 2016)

I had my period on the 29th of November. My fertile days are the 9th-14th. I had sex on the 3rd of December. Now I am experiencing spotting. What does this mean? Is it a sign of ovulation ...or??
  14. Jayla Dec 14, 2016
I had my ovulation on the 10th of Dec, and I've been having cramps and waist pains since then. I'm also discharging, which is very unusual for me. I'm really confused as to what is happening to me. Could it be implantation?
  15. Quyn Dec 19, 2016
I'm worried. I don't have egg white mucus. It's mostly watery. I used to have egg white when I was younger, though, but now I barely see it.

Can severe cramping delay one to conceive? We've been TTC for 10 months now. l'm 25 years of age.

I had my period on the 10th of December 2016, and my Fertile days are from the 17th to 22nd. I had my ovulation on the 21st of December 2016, and I had sex on the 18th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd. Now, I'm expecting my period on the 3rd of January and l've been having cramps and waist pain since then. I'm also discharging, and I did a test on the 2nd of January. It was negative. I'm really confused now. Please, what's going on?

Hi, I had my period on the 5th to 8th of this month, and my cycle runs for 28 days. I'm still confused about when I'll likely ovulate. I need help. Thanks

I have been trying for a baby boy. I am 37-years old. I started my last period on the 22nd of Dec. It lasted 5 days, which is normal. My fertile window is between the 4th to 9th of January. I use an ovulation prediction kit, and I saw two lines on the 5th. I had sex on the 6th at night, which is 35 hours after I saw the two lines. I continued to have sex in the morning and at night for days after. After a week, I am feeling some cramps in my lower abdomen and having backaches. I've been feeling sick and fatigued, but today I saw my period. It was not heavy as my period used to be. I'm still feeling cramping down there. I took a pregnancy test in the afternoon. It was negative. Please, what is happening to me?
  20. Jayla Jan 21, 2017
My cycle has changed from 28 days to 27 days now. It comes for 3 to 4 days instead of the usual 6 days and it's much lighter than before. Should I be worried?
